Busy weekend.
Dec. 15th, 2003 11:25 amWhat I did this weekend:
Today so far: Shoveled an inch of slush off the sidewalk. Returned the rental car I had for the weekend. Delivered my first Secret Santa gift at work: two chocolate mice from Burdick's. Still debating what to do for the main gift on Wednesday.
And doing some work, too. Slowly. And listening to Messiah.
- Shipped four boxes of Christmas presents off to various destinations.
- Laundry.
- With
lemurtanis, bought my Christmas tree, set it up, and decorated it. It makes me happy to see it with the lights reflecting off ornaments and the window. - Bought a wonderful stained-glass penguin ornament for my friend L at a craft fair.
- Baked the orange poppy-seed cookies that Mom and I made the dough for.
- Went to two holiday parties, both very fun. Did not win the cookie-baking contest at one of them, but got to eat lots of very yummy cookies. And hang out and Legends-geek with various people. And then I ate cheese and veggies and played Democrazy and Apples to Apples at the other one. And
meranthi and
thastygliax gave me lobster finger puppets/tree ornaments that are far too cute! (Thank you again!) - Rang bells for the Lessons and Carols service at church, which I love. The choir sang some lovely stuff this year -- a setting of "O Magnum Mysterium" by someone named Lauridsen that was just gorgeous, and "The Shepherd's Pipe Carol," which I always like, among others. And we rang a very pretty arrangement of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" on the handbells, and then after the service L and I rang hymns on the tower bells, which was great. It was snowing during the service, and the church has these wonderful candelabras that go around the columns in the church, so it felt very right for the contemplative Lessons & Carols service.
- Did another batch of puzzles for The Enigma.
- Spent too much time playing silly computer games.
