So I slept too late to get one bus, the next one came early so I missed it, I ate too much junk food, I'm working very unproductively, and I've just generally been out of sorts all day, so I could use some cheering up. Thus, a meme from [livejournal.com profile] kightp.

Tell me something good that happened to you today.

It can be anything: big or small, huge impact or hardly any. Share
something positive.

And (as always, if you wish to) pass the meme on.

I saw my dog today, petted her, and laughed when I discovered she had gotten into something she wasn't supposed to be getting into.

I'm wearing a robin's-egg-blue shirt and blue-red-yellow-purple plaid tie that [livejournal.com profile] phragmites gave me, that look great together and that I really like. And a lot of people have said they like them too.

Let me get back to you. I'm about to go to Mikado rehearsal, where I fully expect the things that happen to be better than anything else that has happened today. :)

To update: The Three Little Maids have a gorgeous vocal blend. Definitely the nicest thing that happened all day yesterday. Running a close second is the fact that we might've found a new Bursar, finally.

i ate some homemade french toast (with french bread, custardy and good!), took the baby for a walk and bought a beautiful bouquet of flowers from a local florist who i'd been afraid was going out of business but wasn't, have all the windows on the upper floor open because it's sunny and cool and NOT humid for once, and read a wonderfully kind and encouraging comment in my LJ (someone who is a published novelist, newspaper editor and magazine publisher praised my meager writing skills on a day when i felt like all i was good for was washing diapers and sweeping floors, and not doing a particularly good job at that).

It's my day off, and I'll continue to have Wednesdays off for the next few months.

I was called out today by my wife on an errand to drive up to Vancouver, WA (about 20 minutes) to this really cool eatery and get smoothies for her coworkers. (Normally I wouldn't, but since I had the free time, and many of them are staying today until midnight...) I don't normally get to go there, since it's so far away. I managed to snag a really good orange/banana smoothie and a cordon blue wrap for me, and carefully loaded my car with about 8 more smoothies.

Fortunately, there were no sharp turns in roads (to knock over the drinks), and though I was surrounded by backed-up traffic, every lane I picked was the fastest one. So I got back home just fine.

Though the rash is still there, I finished the course of antiviral drugs and seem to be on the way to recovery. I was singing and dancing along with music ("Yeah!"). I may treat myself to Chinese food tonight.

I spent a while with a very cute baby who was very diligently practicing standing up and sitting down and standing up and sitting down and... (Daughter of [livejournal.com profile] vorpalbunny)

The fact that I consider this a good thing is new, and speaks volumes of either said baby, or me.

I was late to work, and ran up the stairs at the Delancey Street station to change trains (the 3rd and last of the morning) just in time to see a train pull out, and it was the J train, and not the M train that I needed today.
